Siavash Alamouti

President & CEO

Siavash Alamouti has over 20 years of experience in the communications industry. He is most well known for the invention of the Alamouti code which laid the foundation for the real-life application of MIMO technology and is adopted in almost all wireless standards globally.

He has received more than 14000 citations for his scientific work and has received multiple industry awards. He has been the leading champion for groundbreaking technologies such as OFDM/MIMO, Mobile WiMAX and WiGig and has a reputation for passionately pushing the industry to new limits of the technology for the benefit of mankind.

Prior to mimik he was the Group R&D Director for Vodafone where he managed R&D, corporate venture and IPR for the entire group. Before Vodafone he was an Intel Fellow and CTO of The Mobile Wireless Group where he championed Mobile WiMAX and WiGig technologies. Prior to Intel he was the CTO at the startup Vivato (the first smart antenna WiFi company) and before Vivato, he worked in various capacities at Cadence Design Systems, AT&T Wireless, and MPR Teltech.

Siavash received B.A.Sc and the M.A.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, in 1989 and 1991, respectively.


Kai Buehler

VP, Sales EMEA

Kai Buehler, Ph.D., has successfully started, managed and sold a number of businesses in the mobile application, loyalty and interactive TV space. Kai is Founder of, a loyalty and rewards platform for social impacts.

Previously, Kai was Interim CEO of iStoryTime, "the Netflix of kids' books", in the USA and Germany, where he ran restructuring and M&A activities, which led to a successful merger with Cupcake Digital in 2014.

In 2011, Kai sold Watchpoints, the first app that rewarded viewers for watching television, to Viggle (NASDAQ: VGGL) and became Viggle's SVP and GM.

Before joining Viggle, Kai was the CEO of Mobile Messaging Solutions (mms), Inc, a leading iTV and mobile engagement provider that divested out of VeriSign in 2009 (NASDAQ: VRSN). In his role as CEO of mms, Kai developed Watchpoints and his company managed and processed over 1 billion SMS messages for major iTV shows in the US, including American Idol, America's Got Talent, Dancing with the Stars, Big Brother, Survivor and Sabado Gigante.

Kai started MindMatics USA in May 2006 and the company became a major mobile service and iTV-solutions provider for ABC, Fox, NBC, CBS, Univision, BET, just to name a few. MindMatics also co-created and managed the premium voting for the hit show Deal or No Deal which generated over $100MM in digital revenues. He merged the company with mms, Inc. in early 2010.

From 2000 to 2006, Kai was the CEO of plan_b media, which he co-founded in 2000 and led to profitability. He successfully grew the company to a leader in the production and distribution of mobile entertainment content with offices in New York, Cologne, London and Vienna. Up to its acquisition by MindMatics (now boku) in 2005 he had signed the mobile distribution rights to over 70 licenses, such as Star Wars, War of the World, Muppets, Garfield, Maya the Bee, and Madagascar.

Kai started his professional career in 1999 with the top management consulting firm Droege Group in Germany. He holds 2 patents in the interactive TV field and studied at Universities in Europe and Asia; he holds a Master's Degree in Business and a PhD in Economics from the University of Paderborn, Germany and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.


Dimitri Bouras

VP, Engineering

Dimitri brings nearly two decades of experience in the ICT industry, in particular on system architecture and hardware/software integration for a variety of successful products in both consumer and infrastructure sectors. Prior to joining mimik he has held engineering-lead positions at Atmel Multimedia & Communications, Theta Microelectronics, Ericsson and Thenamaris – a top-tier ships-management company.

For more than a decade he has also served the European Commission as external expert for evaluating proposals submitted under the FP6, FP7 and Horizon 2020 research programs, and for monitoring successful execution of funded projects. An earnest supporter of the Open Source movement since its inception, Dimitri has been contributing code and advocating software freedom for over 20 years. He received M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, in 1991 and 1995 respectively.



Sam Armani

VP, Worldwide Sales & Business Development

Sam is an experienced executive in the software technology sector. She brings a diverse skill set and expertise to mimik, including sales, business strategy, product management, and engineering. She has been with the company from an early stage and has made significant contributions to the development of the company and its products.

Prior to joining mimik in 2010, she held key leading positions at startups Mobidia and L3 Technology and before that she was with Sage Software. At Mobidia, Sam was part of a leading sales team, worked closely with the sales and engineering teams internally and held a key customer facing position focused on delivering network optimization solutions to large mobile operators. At Sage she held various positions including leading a product specialists team and delivering the right business software solutions to the business partners channel.

Sam holds B.A.Sc and M.E. degrees in Electro Mechanical Engineering from University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada.



Founder, Chief Scientist

Dr. Sharif is responsible for setting the technology direction, managing system architecture and leading innovation at mimik. He has a proven track record in wireless technologies with over 26 years of senior scientist/innovation and architect experience in radio frequency, multimedia, protocol, hardware and software design and implementation. A true visionary in his field, Dr. Sharif is a renowned expert in spread spectrum technology and radio link protocols. He has extensive knowledge and experience with applications running over wireless data networks, and a deep understanding of the OSI reference model and operating system designs.

Prior to co-founding mimik, he registered a total of 29 patents and co-founded L3 Technology, Mobidia, L2Protocol and DCPower. He was the chief scientist and architect at all these companies. Prior to his entrepreneurial career, he worked in various capacities in Motorola, AT&T Labs, Ericsson, and MDSI.

Dr. Sharif holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University specializing in Telecommunications.



Diego Corraliza

VP, Marketing

Diego Corraliza has more than 16 years of experience as a senior executive in the digital media industry. Prior to mimik, Diego was the corporate CIO and member of several management committees of the PRISA Group (Leading Media Group in Spain and Latin America), as well as CDO (Chief Digital Officer) at Canal+ (Leading Pay TV provider in Spain now part of Telefonica). As CDO he was in charge of digital strategy of the company and in 2010 led the launch of "YOMVI de Canal+" the first Over The Top (OTT) and TV everywhere (multidevice) linear and Video-on-Demand (VOD) pay TV service in Europe launched by a Direct-to-Home (DTH) company. He established a Business to Consumer (B2C) channel for Canal+ content as well as a Business-to-Business (B2B) channel signing up large Telco customers. After acquisition of Canal+ by Telefonica in 2014, YOMVI de Canal+ has being chosen as the OTT everywhere service for all Telefonica customers. Diego is a seasoned technologist and marketer and has overlooked a number of initiatives including the complete outsourcing of IT services into a single external multinational company or the integration of all communications into a single Network Operations Center (NOC), in both cases for all Business Units at Prisa Group (News, Radio, TV and Education) in Spain and all Latin America countries.

Diego holds a Master on Aerospace Engineering from Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain) and an MBA from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles (USA).
